PRODUCER AND DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKER


Dana has spent the last 18 years working as a television and film Producer and documentary filmmaker, earning both Emmy and Gracie Awards for her work. Based in Chicago and Los Angeles, she’s created original content for studios, agencies, nonprofits and production companies.

As a documentary filmmaker, Dana has served as Co-creator and Producer of the feature length documentary The Empowerment Project: Ordinary Women Doing Extraordinary Things, traveling on two national tours to screen the film and encourage thousands of young women to find their voices and become leaders of their lives.

She’s continued her documentary work by acting as Co-founder of Freeheart Creative and Director of the documentary series Seeing Brave, created to shine light on global female leaders mobilizing communities in Kenya, Rwanda and Syria.

The Empowerment Project is a feature length documentary following the 7,000 mile journey of an all female crew. Driving from California to New York over 30 days, they spotlight the stories of 17 incredible women across all industries.

In partnership with Indieflix, the film has sparked a global movement, screening over 2,000 times in 27 countries to schools, corporations and women’s groups worldwide.
